The New York Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners sponsors events for our members and guests to help foster the goals of the chapter by educating members and raising awareness of fraud detection and fraud elimination. Title: Pandemics and the Preventable Threats to Your Organization
The current Coronavirus Crisis has shown us that the unexpected does happen and it can impact us swiftly. The ability of people and organizations to endure the resulting social changes while adapting to new ways of working that better suits the new tomorrow is the basis of resilience and continuity. This session will discuss the development and use of risk scenarios to help counter these types of imminent risks and identify approaches to counter and remediate future events through business continuity planning. A discussion on the criminal opportunities made available through a vulnerable population will cover investment fraud, work-from-home fraud, government impersonation and fraudulent cures and equipment will be made.

Allen Ureta's Bio:
Allen Ureta is a Managing Director for Deltamine, providing advisory and training services to banking and capital market customers. Allen is a seasoned technology and risk professional with more than 34 years of experience managing people and processes and 20 years’ combined experience in risk management, continuity and assurance. In his career, Allen has created and implemented enterprise-wide risk governance and management programs for financial industry companies—improving processes and implementing technology to validate the appropriateness of third-party controls and to identify potential risks in digital transformations. Allen joined Deltamine in May of 2009.
